Mutton Sindhi Biryani Recipe

Sindhi biryani is a delicious dish. This mutton Sindhi biryani is very easy to make. Rather than regular Biryani, Sindhi Biryani is more spicy and tasty. it’s different from others is the combination of meat with Potato. The tendered and spicy beef with Potato tastes simply delicious. Don’t know whether it originates from Sindh or not but it’s mouth-watering. Serve with raita for a refreshing combination of flavours.

The aromatic rice, combined with flavourful meat, gives biryani a distinct flavour that other rice dishes simply cannot match.

Briefly, Biryani comes in a variety of flavours, and any type of meat can be used. Chicken biryani is more popular than mutton or beef.

Ingredients:

  • Meat( mutton, lamb, beef) 1 kgOil ½ Cup
  • Onion sliced 4 to 5 medium
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbs
  • Black cardamom 1
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
  • Turmeric powder) ½ tsp
  • Namak (Salt) 1 & ½ tsp or to taste
  • Dahi (Yogurt) ¾ Cup
  • Tomatoes 3 to 4 medium
  • Green chillies 4-5(optional)
  • Dry Plums 5-6
  • Podina (Mint leaves) handful
  • lemon 1 sliced
  • Rice Basmati 1 kg
  • Potatoes) boiled 2-3
  • Yellow food colour ½ tsp

In pot, add meat, onion, ginger garlic paste tomatoes and add a cup of water.

add red chilli turmeric and salt and pressure for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes when the meat has been tender, cook on high flame until water finishes.

Grind the few spices( nutmeg 1/2, maze, crush red chilli, degi mirch,) and add in to the meat.

Later Add dry plum, oil and cook chicken and fry until chicken changes color.

Add black pepper corns,star anise,cinnamon stick,cloves,black cardamom,green cardamom,cumin seeds,red chili powder,turmeric powder,garam masala powder,cumin powder,coriander powder,salt, bay leaf and yogurt,mix well & cook for 4-5 minutes.

Add tomatoes and mix well.

Add green chilies,plums,green coriander,mint leaves and mix well.

Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes.

Take out half quantity of cooked chicken & gravy and set aside,add lemon juice,cooked rice,boiled potatoes, remaining cooked chicken,fried onion,lemon juice,remaining cooked rice,water,yellow food color,fried onion and drizzle oil,cover and steam cook for 10 minutes.
