Crispy Zinger Burger, KFC Style!

This KFC-Style Crispy Fried Chicken Zinger Burger is ultimately delicious. Enjoy this crunchy burger at your home. It’s packed with loads of flavour and pretty easy to make.

Tips and Tricks

  1. Marinate the chicken with all the spices and sauces to the boneless fillets and leave to marinate for a couple of hours or overnight. Use the boneless chicken breast pieces.
  2. Prepare dry mix. Combine the dry ingredients flour, and corn flour together for dredging the chicken.
  3. Coat the chicken. When the chicken fillets dip into the flour better. Use a wide bow while dredging the chicken with flour and move anti-clockwise to create flakiness.
  4. Frying When start frying the fillets, oil should be heated but fry the fillet on low to medium heat. Fry for 10 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. Assemble burger. Toast your burger buns. use the buns whatever you like, spread the sauce, and add the slice of cheese, chicken fillet, and lettuce.

Ingredients 

FOR CHICKEN FILLET

  • 1 kg chicken fillets breasts
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

DRY FLOUR MIXTURE

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  •  ½ cup cornflour
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Note: we need half a bowl of water for dipping.

FOR BURGER SAUCE

  • 2 tbs mayonnaise
  • 2 tbs ketchup
  • 2 tbs hot & sweet chilli  
  • 2 tablespoon mustard sauce(optional)

FOR ASSEMBLING

  • 4 buns
  • 4 salad leaves or lettuce
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slice

Instructions

  • Cut the chicken or slit the chicken fillet and flatten each piece.
  • Marinate the chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic & ginger paste, soy sauce and vinegar. Leave overnight or for 1 hour at least.
  • Make a burger sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients.
  • Make the ‘Dry Mix’ with ingredients of flour, corn flour, red chilli and black pepper in a wide shallow bowl and keep aside.
  • Dip the chicken fillets in the batter first, then thoroughly coat with the dry flour mix.
  • Dip in to water.
  • Again dip the fillets in the batter, and Press hard when dredging chicken to create flakiness.
  • Heat a pot with oil for deep-frying. On medium heat add the chicken fillets.
  • Do not move the fillets until starting the colour change. Cook the chicken for 10 to 15 mins until cooked through. Don’t forget to flip in between with care.
  • When done, take the chicken fillets out. Use a grill or strainer to drain excess oil. Never use the tissue.
  • Start assembling your burger. Toast the buns. Take the bottom bun, on it spread the sauce first put the 1 slice of cheese , and crispy chicken, drizzle some of the burger sauce, add the salad leaf and close the burger with the top bun.
  • Serve with french fries and enjoy!
